  Adoption Information

The Radford Humane Society may ask a lot of questions of prospective adopters for two very important reasons:
1. To ensure long-term loving and safe homes for the animals in their care
2. To help make good matches between future pet parents and their adopted companions.

Fees for adoptions are dependent on what needs to be done for each pet:

  • Kittens

  • Cats

  • Puppies

  • Dogs

                Types of Questions:

  • Your housing situation (renting vs. owning, home vs apartment)

  • The number and ages of any children in your household

  • The number and type of other pets you may own

  • The name and contact information of your veterinarian

  • Your previous experience with pets

  • Your activity level, lifestyle, and expectations for a new animal

All adopted pets must be spayed/neutered within a set time frame if not already completed.

All pets must follow up with a veterinarian within 5 days of adoption.

Any difficulties with the pet, please call Radford Humane Society.

If any pet does not work out DO NOT drop or dump the pet, please contact Radford Humane Society
